Russian Federation Senator Alexei Pushkov commented on the consequences of the law banning propaganda of non-traditional relationships, which Hungary recently passed
The Hungarian parliament has approved a law that bans propaganda of non-traditional relationships in schools. Under the law, individuals under the age of 18 are prohibited from displaying materials that encourage gender reassignment or homosexuality. According to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, “there are things that children under a certain age can misunderstand that may be detrimental to their development.”
The European Commission, for its part, called the Hungarian law against LGBT propaganda among minors “abhorrent” and announced possible sanctions against Budapest.
“The European Commission is threatening Hungary with sanctions for the recently passed law against the promotion of transgender culture among minors, but Budapest is sending a signal that it will not relent. At one time, by the way, Brussels almost threatened Britain with the end of the world and the destruction of its economy if it left the EU. Neither of these things happened. Hungary certainly does not want to leave the EU, but it will not repeal the law. And it is an obvious crack in the building of the European Union”, – said Pushkov in his Telegram channel.
