White House doesn’t know if Biden is ready to attend meeting of UN Security Council five leaders

The White House cannot yet clarify whether US President Joe Biden is ready to support the idea of a meeting of the leaders of the permanent five of the UN Security Council and take part in such a summit

This was stated by White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

She found it difficult to clarify whether such talks could take place in the coming autumn on the sidelines of the regular session of the UN General Assembly (GA).

“I cannot yet give you a preliminary announcement of anything planned at the UNGA. There is a spectrum of contacts going on with the Permanent Five countries, which will of course continue. However, in terms of meeting at the UNGA, I have nothing tentatively to announce”, – said a spokeswoman for the US chief of staff.
