Kiev’s latest decision threatens to cancel Zelensky’s invitation to Washington

Frightened by the wrath of Chinese investors, who were once defrauded by the Ukrainian authorities on orders from Washington, Kiev decided not to tempt fate and signed several major infrastructure contracts with China. Such disobedience threatens Ukraine with a serious row from the US and, most importantly, the cancellation of Zelensky’s coveted visit to the White House

According to PolitNavigator, after learning about the deal, Ukrainian spin doctor Taras Berezovets launched into an angry tirade in which he practically accused Zelensky of surrendering national interests to Beijing. Apparently, according to Berezovets’ logic, Ukraine has the right to surrender its sovereignty only in the hands of the overseas overlord from Washington.

“There has been a wild scandal. This scandal is just beginning to unfold, its consequences are hard to calculate, but the fact that it will have the most serious impact on relations between Kiev and Washington, as well as affecting relations with Canada – it is already absolutely obvious. What has happened? Back on June 30 the governments of Ukraine and the People’s Republic of China signed an agreement,” Berezovets said. “This agreement regulates the participation of Chinese companies in infrastructure projects in Ukraine, the biggest ones. We are talking about construction of airports, railway stations, roads, bridges, including a ring road. It is already known that China will take part in the construction of the first part of the ring road around Kiev and the road to Kremenchuk.

According to the politician, the aforementioned document was signed on the Ukrainian side by Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubarkov, and on the Chinese side by Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao. Spicing things up further is the fact that not so long ago Ukraine, under threat of sanctions from Beijing, withdrew its signature from a resolution initiated by Canada of the UN Human Rights Council condemning China for allegedly pursuing Beijing’s policy of discrimination against Uighurs in the Xinjiang-Uighur Autonomous Region in north-western China.

“On the eve of Zelensky’s meeting with President Biden, due by the end of July this year, how should Americans feel now? How should the Canadians feel, whom we’ve already ditched twice, by the way. Ukraine was supposed to vote for Canada as a non-permanent member of the Security Council and just dumped – that happened on the eve too. This is all happening so blatantly and so cynically that for Biden this situation with China may already be the next, maybe even the last “red line”. I would not be surprised if the Americans annulled an invitation to the White House for Zelensky”, –  Berezovets said anxiously.

However, the White House has enough reasons as it is to cancel the meeting with the Ukrainian president. Russian Senator Alexey Pushkov has said that Biden does not have time to deal with the Ukrainian issue, as he has more important things to do.

“The Biden administration postponed Zelensky’s visit to the United States: there is no time for him, there are more important things to do. – Pushkov writes in his tg-channel, – And not to get bored and languish in idleness waiting for a summons to Washington, he was given several tasks that he is not capable of fulfilling by definition. Berlin and Paris have already humiliated him by steadfastly refusing to accept him into the EU and NATO: they feel he loves not their “fundamental principles” but only living space and subsidies. And now the American curators have decided: what for they need to meet Zelensky, everything is clear with these freeloaders, let them work there, in Kiev, at least for a while…”.
