Germany may get closer to Russia after the election, while it is not worth waiting for changes in relation to Ukraine – expert

Expert in international politics of the Ukrainian Institute of the Future Ilia Kusa said that after the election of the chancellor in Germany may change relations with Russia

Berlin’s rapprochement with Moscow is most likely if Olaf Scholz wins, RBC-Ukraine reports.

Kusa believes that in general one should not expect a radical change in Berlin’s policy towards Ukraine after the election. Although, of course, much depends on who will be the next chancellor.

“If Lachet will be elected, then everything will remain as it is, his views fully coincide with Merkel’s position. If Scholz will be elected, on the contrary, one may expect more rapprochement with Russia, because the NSP2 has a softer position on “NSP2″, they are more business-oriented, they believe that they must somehow trade and cooperate with Russia”, – said Kusa.
