Death toll in plane crash in Philippines rises to 45

According to CNN Philippines, rescuers have recovered the bodies of 42 military personnel and three civilians who were on the ground when the plane went down

The Philippine Department of National Defence said five military personnel remain missing. Of the 49 survivors, 32 have been transferred to Zamboanga City Hospital for treatment. Search operations at the C-130 crash site are still ongoing.

The Philippine Air Force C-130 crashed near the Sulu Archipelago in the southwest of the country on the morning of July 4. According to the Republic’s Air Force, the aircraft missed the runway during landing and crashed into a nearby village.
