OAU outraged by LGBT flags at the US and British embassies

The American and British embassies in the United Arab Emirates were criticized by the population after the appearance of “flags of pride” on the buildings of diplomatic missions.

The diplomatic missions of the United States and Great Britain decided to display the rainbow “flags of pride”, which are the symbol of the LGBT community. This is the first incident in history that embassies have posted symbols of gay people in the religiously conservative Arab monarchy, where same-sex marriage is illegal.

Former director of the financial department, Dumaya, said that this is very disrespectful on the part of the British embassy in relation to the UAE and its people.

“It looks like someone there is still living in the long-gone imperial times of Great Britain,” the director said.
