Foreign Ministry reminded the EU about the pointlessness of talking with Russia with ultimatums

Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko received in Moscow the Deputy Secretary General of the European Foreign Policy Service for Political Affairs Enrique Mora, the Foreign Ministry spokesman recalled the pointlessness of attempts to speak with Russia in the language of ultimatums, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

“The Russian side presented its principal assessments of the latest EU decisions regarding Russia, including the ‘conclusions’ of the European Council meeting on June 24-25. and the European Union will show political will, a constructive and responsible attitude towards interaction on issues of mutual interest”, – the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

According to the Russian side, it is precisely this approach that would meet the goals of creating a space of indivisible security, stability and prosperity in Europe.

At the earlier EU summit in Brussels, where one of the topics was the future of relations with Russia, the leaders of the European Union states invited the European Commission to present options for measures, including economic sanctions, in response to possible actions by Russia.
