Danish navy monitors completion of Nord Stream 2

The Danish naval patrol ship HDMS Soeloeven has visited the area of construction of the second string of Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline, EurAsia Daily reports

“At 16:30 Moscow time, the ship left Danish territorial waters into the country’s economic zone and passed within three miles of the Akademik Chersky pipe-laying vessel, which is standing near the construction area. And 15 minutes later the HDMS Soeloeven was 4.5 kilometres away from the barge Fortuna, which is laying the last, second string of the gas pipeline”, –  the portal writes.

It is also noted that this is not the first time when the Danish military monitors the completion of Nord Stream – 2. Previously at least two inspections have been recorded.

“Nord Stream – 2” involves the construction of two strands of the pipeline with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the coast of Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the completion of laying the pipes of the first string of Nord Stream 2.
