US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan said that relations between the Russian Federation and the United States are of great value for both countries and he will make every effort to prevent a break in relations between Moscow and Washington, TASS reports.
“The United States and Russia have many relationships, not only between our governments, but also between peoples, especially over the past 30 years. <…> I want to do [everything] in my power to stop the breakup of this relationship”, – he said.
He believes that Russian-American relations have worsened after a high-profile interview in which US President Joe Biden said that the Russian leadership will have to “pay the price” in connection with Moscow-attributed attempts to interfere in the American elections. In addition, the head of the White House answered in the affirmative when asked whether he considers Russian President Vladimir Putin a “killer”.
