A meagre ration in Ukrainian army canteens has shocked Britons accustomed to a well-fed life

As Izvestia reports, one of the British army men, who took part in the Sea Breeze exercise, shared a photo on his Instagram page with a Ukrainian military unit dining room, complaining about the very poor menu. The picture he posted shows the Ukrainian side serving some buckwheat, a slice of tomato, a cucumber and one sausage.

“Welcome to Sea Breeze, here is your standard breakfast for a guest from NATO. We have a lovely selection of the same drink we’ve had for the last three meals, followed by some plain buckwheat grits and sausage with a side of sliced cucumber and two slices of tomato”, –  wrote the military man.

Commentators expressed sympathy for the soldier and wished him a good appetite. One user even jokingly offered to send him the sauce. As a result the complaint of the British soldier reminded of the old satirical joke about the tiger, which “is not given enough meat” in the zoo.

We shall remind you that on Monday the annual US-Ukrainian naval exercise Sea Breeze – 2021 started in the Black Sea. Its participants will practise fighting at sea, on land and in the air, including landing, anti-submarine and anti-aircraft warfare.
