Moscow sent the United States more than 40 appeals regarding cyberattacks on state structures and systems of Russia, including raising this issue in Geneva, but there is still no answer, this is an unacceptable, harmful position.
This was announced to RIA Novosti by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov.
Talking about the summit in Geneva, he noted that the Russian side “mentioned” a specific cyberattack – “an attack using the capabilities of the Internet on the healthcare system of the Voronezh region, as an example”.
“But in total, we have recently had more than 40 appeals to the Americans on specific situations of using the Internet to carry out attacks on Russian structures, legal entities, government agencies, and so on. Occasionally, extremely rarely, that is, one can say almost never, Americans do not respond to our appeals”, – Ryabkov said.
He noted that this is an “unacceptable approach”: the United States “for some reason believes that we should react to all their claims, and they simply do not react to ours”.
“They do not knowingly perceive them. This is a harmful position, it will not lead to any progress”, – the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.
