Unidentified assailants have fired on Colombian President Ivan Duque’s helicopter. Minister of Boron Diego Molano and Interior Minister Daniel Palacisos were also on board, RCN television reported
“The helicopter we were flying in was the target of the attack”, – Duque said after landing in the northeastern city of Cucuta.
According to the TV channel, six bullet holes were left on the skin of the aircraft. No members of the government were also reportedly injured.
The President of Colombia called the attackers cowards and stressed that he would continue to fight drug trafficking, terrorism and organised crime. In addition, he instructed to find out who shot the helicopter as soon as possible.
