Germany tells how to protect Nord Stream 2 from US attacks

The leader of the Alternative for Germany party, Bundestag member Tino Krupalla said that Berlin should clearly articulate its own economic interests and not allow Washington to dictate terms

“Germany must clearly articulate its own economic interests. Where do we go if we let America dictate what to do economically? If we do that, I think that Nord Stream 2″ will not be threatened. Of course, we must not allow America to blackmail us”, –  Krupalla said.

Recall that US President Joe Biden’s administration has previously stated that it is impossible to stop the construction of Russia’s Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, as the project is almost complete. However, following the lifting of sanctions against Nord Stream 2 AG on 20 May, the USA imposed new restrictions on Russian companies and ships involved in the Nord Stream 2 project.

“Nord Stream 2” involves the construction of two pipeline routes with a total capacity of 55bn cubic metres of gas a year from the Russian coast to Germany via the Baltic Sea. As News Front earlier reported, the U.S. and Germany are discussing the issue of providing assistance to Ukraine after the commissioning of the gas pipeline.
