German peacekeepers injured in Mali bombing

A UN mission vehicle has exploded in northern Mali, which is in the west of the African continent

Thirteen peacekeepers were injured in the incident. Among them was one Belgian and 12 Germans.

German Defence Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer commented on the situation. She said three of the men had been seriously wounded, two were in stable condition and one was undergoing surgery.
Islamist rebels are operating in northern Mali. Their attack targeted a Blue Helmets base near the village of Ichagara in the Gao region.
