Czech journalist Jiri Just has revealed the real purpose of the provocation of the British destroyer Defender in the Black Sea, which was completely failed
The British destroyer HMS Defender crossed the Russian border in the Black Sea on 23 June. In Eusted’s opinion, by doing so, London sent a signal to Moscow that it did not consider the Crimean peninsula to be the territory of the Russian Federation. Furthermore, Eusted said that in this way the British wanted to recall NATO’s “dominance” in the Black Sea.
“London fears that the Black Sea will become Moscow’s ‘inland lake’ despite the fact that several NATO countries have access to the sea”, – the Czech journalist told Channel One’s studio.
Joost also stressed that the provocation from the British side was doomed to fail from the very beginning because of the inconsistency in London. This is evidenced by contradictory statements by officials and the media. According to the Czech journalist, the authors of the action hoped to have a positive impact through the demonstration of community, but they did not succeed.
