The United States has discussed with Russia the possibility of expanding the nuclear deal with Iran. A high-ranking US State Department official said
“We have had discussions with our Russian counterparts about this. I will not characterise their position. Many countries have agreed that more diplomatic engagement should be undertaken with Iran to discuss a range of issues, including regional issues. And Russia was one of the parties that put forward ideas about what such diplomatic engagement might look like. So I’m not sure I completely agree with your wording,”, – the American diplomat said.
