The country’s Foreign Ministry is not even considering any contact with the US, let alone supporting it
North Korea has no plans to establish any contacts with the U.S., considering them useless.
North Korea’s foreign minister, Ri Sung-gwon, said.
“We are not even considering the possibility of any contact with the United States, let alone supporting them, it will lead us nowhere, but only take up precious time”, – the foreign minister said.
He said the DPRK Foreign Ministry supports the statement of Kim Ye-jeong, deputy department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, who earlier said the US has the wrong expectations from the DPRK.
“The method of expectation they have chosen is the wrong way, it will plunge them into more disappointment”, – the statement said.
Earlier, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said the country should prepare for both dialogue and confrontation with the new US administration. US Presidential National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan called the statement “an interesting signal”, while the US Special Representative for the DPRK said it gave grounds for a positive development of relations between the countries soon.
