German Chancellor Angela Merkel invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to pay a working visit to Berlin to discuss a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbass, the press service of the office of the head of the Ukrainian state said following a telephone conversation between the two leaders.
“President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel. For her part, the Federal Chancellor invited the head of the Ukrainian state to pay a visit to Berlin in the near future to discuss a number of issues in bilateral relations between Ukraine and Germany and the peace process in Donbas”, – in the message on the office website.
It is noted that during the conversation, Zelensky confirmed his invitation to Merkel to visit Ukraine to participate in the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform and events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence, which will be held in August.
