State Duma Deputy Ruslan Balbek, commenting on the purchase of UAVs from Turkey by Ukraine to “contain” Russia, compared Kiev’s position to child intimidation.
Earlier, the press service of the leading manufacturer of Turkish drones – the company Baykar – told RIA Novosti that Ukraine has already bought the Turkish Bayraktar attack drones. Subsequently, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov said that reports about the sale of UAVs by Turkey to Ukraine do not cause joy. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that his country is selling UAVs to Ukraine without preconditions, the deal is not directed against Russia. Later, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Dmitry Kuleba, said that Kiev had purchased shock drones from Turkey so that Russia would “think twice” before “attacking” Ukraine.
“Kuleba’s speech is perceived as childish intimidation, they say, look, I have a club and I’m not afraid of anyone. We are not going to attack Ukraine, but if Kiev suddenly decides to tickle our nerves with Turkish drones, then when crossing our border, these devices will be on the ground in a matter of minutes”, – Balbek told RIA Novosti.
According to the deputy, the same applies to attempts to attack Russian targets without entering the airspace of the Russian Federation.
“Apparently, military information, sweet, like a Turkish baklava, entered Kuleba’s ears that he began to jump out of happiness with these drones in a ritual dance of the late Neolithic period”, – he concluded.
