Russian Ambassador to Washington resumed his duties

The State Department and the White House have not yet responded to a TASS request for information on when US Ambassador John Sullivan is expected to return to Moscow.

As reported on Twitter of the Russian Embassy in the United States, Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov, who returned to Washington on Sunday after about three months in Moscow, where he was invited for consultations, took up his duties.

“On June 20, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, returned to Washington and took up his duties”, – the statement, quoted by TASS, says.

At around 18:00 local time (01:00 Moscow time on Monday) Antonov drove into the territory of the Russian Embassy in Washington in an official car. Several hours earlier, he flew on a regular Aeroflot flight to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, where he was met by Russian diplomats. After talking with journalists, the ambassador and his entourage went to Washington in the embassy’s cars.
