In an interview with Russia-1 TV channel, Alexander Gintsburg, head of the Gamaleya Center, said that the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus Sputnik V protects against all currently known strains of the infection, TASS reported
“The antibodies produced by Sputnik V protect against all currently known strains, from the British strain to, respectively, the delta strain, the Indian strain”, – Gintsburg said.
The Sputnik V vaccine was developed by Russian scientists at the Gamaleya Scientific and Research Centre for EMERCOM and was the world’s first registered vaccine against coronavirus. It is based on a well-studied adenovirus platform which ensures high efficacy and safety.
As News Front previously reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that “getting vaccinated against coronavirus is better than getting sick”.
