US ambassador to Russia says he will return to Moscow soon

US ambassador to Russia John Sullivan has announced his intention to return to Moscow to carry out US President Joe Biden’s instructions

“Following an important summit, I look forward to my imminent return to Moscow to lead a strong U.S. Embassy team in Russia in working to implement President Biden’s directives outlined in Geneva, including those on strategic stability, human rights and building a stable and predictable relationship with Russia”, –  Sullivan said in a statement posted on the embassy’s Twitter.

The Russia-U.S. summit was held in Geneva at Villa La Grange on 16 June. Russian leader Vladimir Putin held talks with his US counterpart Joe Biden. The two sides discussed strategic stability, trade relations, regional security and cybersecurity. In addition, the Russian and US presidents agreed to return the ambassadors to Moscow and Washington.
