Raisi officially declared winner of Iran’s presidential election

The head of Iran’s judiciary, Ebrahim Raisi, has been officially declared the winner of Iran’s presidential election, the country’s Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said

Overall voter turnout in the presidential election was more than 48%, with nearly 29 million people casting their votes.

“Out of 28,933,004 people who participated in the 13 presidential elections, 17,926,345 voted for Ebrahim Raisi”,  – Fazli said.

It was also noted that Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of the Expediency Council, got 3,412,712 votes, former Iranian Central Bank Governor Abdolnasser Hemmati got 2,427,201 votes and Amir Hossein Qazizadeh Hashemi, deputy chairman of the Majlis (parliament), got 999,718 votes

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Ebrahim Raisi on his victory in the presidential election and expressed hope for further development of cooperation in various fields and interaction on international issues.
