Chief Justice Ebrahim Raisi has won the presidential election in Iran with 17.8 million votes
“28 million 600,000 of our compatriots participated in this election. Raisi won 17.8 million votes”, – Jamal Orf, head of the Islamic Republic’s electoral headquarters, said when announcing the initial results of the election.
His rivals got significantly fewer votes: Mohsen Rezaee had 3.3 million votes, Abdolnasser Hemmati had 2.4 million votes, and Amir Hossein Qazizadeh had about 1 million votes. Orf added that these are only preliminary results of the vote, the final results will be announced during the day.
