US President Joe Biden and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems purchased by Turkey, but could not reach an agreement
“As for the S-400, they [Biden and Erdogan] discussed it. No agreement was reached. It was decided to continue the dialogue on the S-400”, – said US Assistant to the President for National Security Jake Sullivan at a press briefing.
Sullivan noted that the presidents of Turkey and the United States discussed a plan to secure the Kabul airport after the withdrawal of NATO troops from Afghanistan. Erdogan and Biden agreed that Washington will help Ankara in this.
