Poland will deploy anti-tank missile systems FGM-148F Javelin in the east of the country, Polish Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak told reporters on Thursday.
In May 2020, Poland signed an agreement to purchase FGM-148F Javelin anti-tank missile systems from the United States. By the end of 2021, Poland is to receive 60 launchers and 180 FGM-148F Javelin anti-tank guided missiles along with a training and logistics package.
The minister said that on Thursday he took part in a demonstration exercise at the Kiev training ground near Torun, where the Territorial Defense Troops demonstrated the use of Javelin anti-tank systems.
“This is a new weapon that has been supplied to the Polish Army. Javelin will be used by brigades of territorial defense troops stationed in the east of our country. This is very important when it comes to a whole system of deterring a potential aggressor”, – Dvorczyk said.
