Russia cannot be “strangled” with sanctions – State Duma

Russia is not afraid of any sanctions, economically, the Russian Federation is a self-sufficient country, so it cannot be strangled by any kind of restrictions.

This was stated by the head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky, RIA Novosti reports.

“Russia does not care about any sanctions, we are economically self-sufficient country. We are not afraid of sanctions. But they are afraid of us. They are trying to deform our image in the global information and then political space”, – Slutsky said in the Personal Communications program on YouTube.

According to him, despite the difficult geopolitical situation, Russia is getting stronger every month and every year, and this “haunts our opponents, thereby strategic friends.”

“Sanctions and restrictions are dislocated by themselves. Sanctions and restrictions against parliamentarians have been twofold dislocated, since parliamentarians just have to travel, communicate, build bridges in the field of parliamentary and public diplomacy. But, nevertheless, the West does not hear us”, – Slutsky noted, adding that more sanctions against Russia were recently adopted.

The parliamentarian also said to his opponents that “Russia cannot be strangled by any kind of arbitrarily sensitive sanctions”.
