Kremlin evaluates U.S. statements on the need to contain Russia before the summit in Geneva

Statements from the United States about the need to contain Russia do not ease the atmosphere before the meeting of the leaders of the two countries, nevertheless, both sides have an intention to speak.

This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
In Geneva on Wednesday, talks will be held between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden.

“There are still notes in favor of the need to speak with Moscow through containment, pressure, and so on. We all hear the words that Moscow will have to pay for this, for this. All this, of course, does not ease the general atmosphere, but again I repeat: after all, both sides have an intention to speak, President Putin and President Biden”, – Peskov said in an interview with Channel One.
