At the meeting, which took place on June 16, the ambassadors of the EU countries adopted a new package of sanctions against Minsk. This was announced by the correspondent of Radio Liberty Rikard Jozwiak on Twitter.
“EU ambassadors have just approved visa bans and asset freezes for 78 people and 7 organizations […] Publication is expected in the official EU journal on June 21”, – the journalist wrote.
The new sanctions restrictions are related to the emergency landing of a Ryanair airline in Minsk. On board the aircraft was the founder of the NEXTA Telegram channel recognized as extremist in Belarus, Roman Protasevich.
