The Chairman of the German Bundestag Wolfgang Schaeuble welcomed the upcoming meeting of the Presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, which will take place on Wednesday, June 16, in Geneva, DW reports.
“The fact that Putin and Biden will meet and talk to each other is a sign of hope. We are all happy to have a partner in President Biden who understands the responsibility of the United States to ensure that the world does not lose stability”, – Schäuble said.
He stressed that Russia is “a large and important country that needs to cooperate on the principles of respect to find answers on such global topics as climate, stability and the fight against hunger”.
The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Joe Biden will take place today, June 16 in Geneva. According to information published by the White House, the leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States will meet at the Villa La Grange at 13:35 local time (14:35 Moscow time).
