Turkish intelligence overtook a particularly dangerous terrorist – ISIS financier for Russia and the EU

The Turkish special services seized and brought from Syria to the country one of the leaders of the terrorist organization Daesh (Islamic State, ISIS, ISIL, banned in Russia. – Ed.) Kasim Guler, wanted by the Interpol red circular. The state news agency Anadolu reported this today, June 15.

According to sources in the security structures, the successful operation in Syria was carried out by the efforts of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT). The decision to conduct it was made after receiving information about the impending terrorist attacks in the Republic of Turkey.

According to intelligence reports, Kasim Guler, known in ISIS as Abu Usam al-Turki, planned to cross the Syrian-Turkish border with a large amount of weapons and ammunition and carry out “high-profile terrorist attacks.” At the time of the arrest, the terrorist had a large amount of documentation from the criminal organization.

Guler in 2008-2010. participated in hostilities in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and in 2014 joined the terrorist organization Daesh. The militant was believed to be responsible for financing ISIS in Russia, Europe and Turkey, Anadolu notes.
