Serbian Foreign Minister calls negotiations with Pristina extremely difficult

According to Nikola Selakovich, the trilateral meeting took place in an atmosphere of tension.

According to TASS, the negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, which took place on Tuesday in Brussels with the mediation of the European Union, were very difficult. Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic told reporters about this after the meeting.

“The meeting was extremely difficult, extremely tense”, – said Selakovic.

According to him, the trilateral meeting, which was attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Minister of unrecognized Kosovo Albin Kurti, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and EU Special Representative for Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina Miroslav Lajcak, took place in an atmosphere of tension.

“Any topic that was raised was unacceptable to them. They are against everything that was previously agreed upon. Kurti came and asked when Serbia recognizes Kosovo, the president replied: “Never”, – the minister said.

“Several times, Mr. Borrell tried to clarify with them which topic was unacceptable to them, but they did not answer anything. It is unambiguous that you cannot talk about anything with these people – this is the impression from the past meeting. At the end of the meeting, the President asked them not to do anything that could undermine stability”.

According to him, the parties agreed that consultations of technical groups will take place in the coming period, and a second summit is planned to be held by July 25.
