Four doctors vaccinating people against polio killed in Afghanistan

Four medics involved in polio vaccination in Afghanistan have died in a series of attacks in eastern Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, local Ariana News reported, citing local officials.

Armed men reportedly carried out attacks on Tuesday morning in four different localities in Nangarhar province. According to the TV channel, four more doctors were injured.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Earlier in March, security sources told RIA Novosti that three female doctors who participated in the polio vaccination of the Afghan population were killed in the city of Jalalabad.
