Borrell said that the result of the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo will be a pass for them to the EU

Without negotiations, economic progress and prosperity in the region will be undermined, stressed the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

According to TASS, on Tuesday, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, before the start of the next round of talks between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the Prime Minister of unrecognized Kosovo, Albin Kurti, said that the European Union had confirmed that Serbia and Kosovo would be able to join the community only after the normalization of their relations as a result of high-level dialogue mediated by the EU.

“We are facing difficult negotiations. And here it is very important to understand that the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and its results will become a pass to the European future for both sides”, – he said.

“Without this dialogue, economic progress and prosperity in the region will be undermined”.

Borrell especially stressed that he was very pleased to hold the next meeting between Belgrade and Pristina at the moment when US President Joe Biden was discussing cooperation with the EU in Brussels.
