A plane with the first batch of the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V has landed in Ankara
“The plane with the first batch of Sputnik V vaccine has landed at the Esenboga airport in the capital Ankara”, – the AHaber TV channel reported.
Turkish authorities have previously said that the Russian vaccine will help to significantly speed up the vaccination process in the country. According to the Ministry of Health, a new coronavirus infection has been reported in 200,000 people in Turkey over the past four days.
The Sputnik V vaccine was developed by Russian scientists at the Gamaleya Scientific and Research Centre for Ecology and Medicine and was the world’s first registered vaccine against the coronavirus. It is based on a well-studied adenovirus platform which ensures high efficacy and safety.
