US President discusses policy towards China and DPRK with Japanese Prime Minister

The two leaders also discussed common challenges in the Indian and Pacific Ocean region and the world, including coronavirus and climate change

US President Joe Biden discussed with Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga policies towards the DPRK and China during the ongoing Group of Seven (G7) summit in Cornwall County. This is according to a White House press release issued on Saturday.

It said the two leaders discussed “common challenges in the Indian and Pacific Ocean region and the world, including coronavirus, climate change, North Korea, China, and maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait area.”

Biden on Wednesday embarked on his first overseas trip as president. He is attending the Group of Seven summit in the UK. He will then fly to the Belgian capital for the NATO summit. The US-EU summit will then take place in Brussels. Biden’s tour culminates in a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Switzerland on 16 June.
