French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson clashed over Brexit during the G7 summit, Reuters writes
According to the agency, the French president was extremely angered that Johnson tried to move any topic to Brexit-related issues, thereby distracting the countries from other more pressing issues.
“Don’t tell me you didn’t know what you were getting into when you signed up to Britain’s exit from the EU”, – was the French leader’s way of addressing the British prime minister, according to a Reuters source.
Recall that Britain officially left the European Union in February 2020. Since then, the parties have faced numerous problems, especially in the area of trade. The Brexit agreement suggests that Northern Ireland gets dual status, while remaining part of the UK and a customs territory of the EU.
