Lukashenkо is confident that relations between Belarus and the Russian Federation will develop in the interests of both countries

In congratulating Russian citizens on Russia Day, the Belarusian president stressed that the Russians live “in a great country with a unique history and invaluable cultural heritage”

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated President Vladimir Putin and all the Russians on Russia Day, noting that the relations between the two countries will develop in the interests of the peoples living there. This was reported on Saturday by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

He expressed confidence that “Belarusian-Russian relations, hardened in the face of modern threats, will grow into new promising areas of cooperation in the interests of both countries and peoples. Lukashenko stressed that the Russians live “in a great country with a unique history and invaluable cultural heritage.

“The growing economic potential, breakthrough ideas in science and technology, large-scale social projects are qualitatively transforming the current image of Russia, strengthening its authority in the international arena”, –  the message reads.

Lukashenko has also sent greetings to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matviyenko and State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
