In the opinion of Ukrainian political analyst Konstantin Bondarenko, Ukraine will face the fate of a non-subject state
Head of the Ukrainian Policy Foundation, political analyst and historian Konstantin Bondarenko said in a comment to Glavredy that the subject of the conversation between the presidents of the United States and Ukraine – Joe Biden and Vladimir Zelensky – will depend on how the US-Russian summit and NATO summit are held. There are two possibilities: Washington could command Kiev to implement the Minsk agreements or, on the contrary, imitate the process of their implementation.
“For example, if Ukraine is forced to implement Minsk in its current form, it could establish closer contacts with the UK and ignore the US position, i.e. implement steps to please London rather than Washington. Also, Ukraine can create regional blocs, for example, with the participation of Turkey”, – the expert noted.
Bondarenko believes that in any case Ukraine will face the fate of a non-subject state that will be manipulated in the interests of big players.
“In order not to be manipulated, we need to become strong and mature ourselves”, – the political scientist concluded.
