Dodon called Russia the most sincere friend of Moldova

The ex-president of Moldova, the head of the Socialist Party Igor Dodon, in his congratulations on the Day of Russia, noted that the Russian Federation is the most sincere friend and reliable strategic partner of the republic.

Russia Day is celebrated annually on June 12. On this day in 1990, a declaration of state sovereignty of the RSFSR was adopted. The name “Day of Russia” was officially given to the holiday in 2002.

“Today the Russian Federation celebrates a national holiday – Day of Russia. It is difficult to overestimate the importance of Russia for our country. The Russian Federation is our most sincere friend and the most reliable strategic partner”, – says Dodon’s congratulation posted on his Facebook.

He recalled that Moldova and Russia are linked by centuries of common history, joint struggle against foreign invaders, common faith and church, numerous economic, social, humanitarian ties. Dodon recalled that Russian soldiers shed blood for the liberation of the Moldovan land.

The ex-president thanked Russia for humanitarian aid in the form of a batch of Sputnik V vaccine.

Separately, he noted that Russian military personnel are carrying out a peacekeeping operation in Moldova, and largely thanks to their efforts, no blood has been shed on Moldovan soil for almost 30 years.

“I sincerely congratulate President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov, all Russian diplomats accredited in our country, as well as all citizens of the Russian Federation and all our compatriots who care about Russia”, – Dodon summed up.
