The influential British newspaper The Times, citing The Washington Post, claims that Russia is allegedly planning to supply Iran with satellites that will allow Tehran to spy on “military targets” in the Middle East, which “will be seen as a provocation ahead of President Biden’s showdown with President Putin next week”
The publication claims that “the Kanopus-B satellite will enable Iran to spy on oil refineries in the Persian Gulf, Israeli military bases and even barracks in Iraq, where US troops are stationed.”
However, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an interview with NBC, denied this false information, TASS reported.
“This is just fake news. At least I don’t know anything about it, those who talk about it may know more about it. It’s just nonsense, nonsense”, – the president stressed. He added that Russia has plans for cooperation with Iran, including military-technical cooperation.
It is clear why such fakes are thrown out by American newspapers – there are those who want to “open Biden’s eyes” to Putin. But what have the British newspapers spread more of: malice, jealousy or envy? Either way, they are extremely indifferent to the fact of negotiations between the Russian and US leaders. And it is about time they calmed down.
