US destroyer Laboon heads to the Black Sea

The US Navy missile destroyer Laboon has moved towards the Black Sea, the US Navy’s Sixth Fleet reported on Twitter, RIA Novosti reported.

“USS Laboon (DDG-58) has begun moving north into the Black Sea to conduct maritime safety operations in the region. The US Navy regularly carries out operations in the Black Sea with NATO allies and partners”, – the press service said.

USS Laboon entered service in 1995 and is armed with two Aegis launchers that carry up to 56 nuclear-armed Tomahawk cruise missiles.
