Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova responded to the words of the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, about the omelet.
Earlier, during a speech in the European Parliament, Borrell said that the West should continue to put pressure on Minsk. He said that “sanctions should be directed at the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and try to avoid the influence of restrictions on ordinary citizens.” However, in the same statement, Borrell stressed that “you can’t make an omelet without breaking the eggs.”
“Apparently, our EU partners decided to be guided in everything by the rule: the end justifies the means, when a number of principles so dear to the EU, if necessary, can be waived. This also applies to the side effects of the sanctions against Minsk. I would like to answer Mr. Josep Borrell: if you want an omelet, beat your balls”, – Zakharova said at the briefing.
