Russian Ambassador to Belarus explained the peculiarities of the integration of the two countries

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Belarus Yevgeny Lukyanov clarified during a press conference that the integration processes within the Union State do not imply the absorption of one economy by another, reports TASS.

“The role of the economy in the life of any state is the foundation, the primacy of the economy is obvious to me. And in this sense, Russia and Belarus share the same practice: we must be complementary, we must integrate our economies. We are not talking about the absorption of one economy by another. The point is that we are not competitors in foreign and domestic markets”, – Lukyanov said.

He also noted that recently Belarus, along with Russia, was included in the list of countries from which “there is a threat to the collective West”.

The diplomat stressed that Russia will never leave Belarus “in trouble, because Russians do not abandon their own in trouble”.
