According to channel 112 Ukraine, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at a hearing in the House Foreign Relations Committee that Germany is studying the possibility of paying compensation to Ukraine in connection with the losses that the country may incur due to the launch of Nord Stream-2.
“We are actively cooperating to find out what can and should be done, and I think we need to do to ensure that transit fees that Ukraine may lose at some point in the future because of this gas pipeline. have been reimbursed”, – Blinken said.
He did not specify the nature of the planned payments, but made it clear that such a step by Germany was one of the reasons why the United States abandoned sanctions against Nord Stream-2 AG, which is responsible for the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, and its head, Matthias Warnig.
