Zelensky once again demanded Ukraine’s admission to NATO

In an interview with Axios portal, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that NATO should resolve the issue of Ukraine’s accession to the alliance as soon as possible

“There is no point in looking through binoculars, into some distant future and discussing the future. The issue has to be solved immediately. Now we are in danger, now our independence is at stake, and it is now that we need help”, –  Zelensky said.

According to him, due to the indecisiveness of the North Atlantic Alliance to accept Ukraine into its ranks, support for such a course within the country has weakened considerably. Zelensky said that Ukrainians “believe less and less in the country’s accession to NATO”.

Earlier the Ukrainian president asked White House President Joe Biden to facilitate Ukraine’s accession to NATO. In Zelensky’s opinion, the country’s membership in the alliance is “the only way to end the conflict in Donbass”.
