At least twelve people were killed in an airstrike by Afghan security forces that mistakenly targeted a group of militias who sided with the authorities in the fight against militants, Tolo News reported.
According to the channel’s sources, on Friday in the northeastern province of Badakhshan, the Afghan defense and security forces inadvertently “struck at their own people”. The death toll also includes the commander of the militia.
It is also reported that as a result of the incident, eight people were missing. Local authorities have not yet commented on the incident.
