U.S. military pleads guilty to the death of 23 civilians

We are talking only about those cases that were recorded all over the world in 2020.

As Lenta.ru reports with reference to an article on the portal of the Al Jazeera channel, the United States has recognized responsibility for the deaths of 23 people in war zones around the world. It is noted that the reported number of victims is higher than in previous years. Another 10 people were seriously injured as a result of military actions.

“According to the Pentagon report, the largest number of civilian deaths during conflicts was recorded in Afghanistan. The military also reported civilian casualties during operations in Iraq, Somalia, Yemen and Nigeria”, – the publication said.

At the same time, the Pentagon’s report was sharply criticized by international humanitarian organizations.

“Non-governmental organizations also regularly publish data on the killings of civilians by the US military. The figures released by them often turn out to be higher than those declared by the American authorities. Thus, the Airwars organization reported that during military operations in 2020 the American army killed more than a hundred people, which is five times higher than the official figures of the Pentagon”, – reports Al Jazeera.

“Representatives of human rights organizations called the information from Washington’s report “extremely inadequate”.
