According to TASS, citing the press service of the White House, US Presidential Assistant for National Security Jake Sullivan on Wednesday discussed Russia, Ukraine and the energy security of European countries with Foreign Policy Advisor to German Chancellor Jan Hecker, while a group of experts from the governments of the two countries held consultations on “Nord Stream – 2”.

“They talked about the upcoming meeting of the G7 leaders and the NATO summit, the importance of ensuring the security of Europe’s energy future, as well as foreign policy priorities that include Russia, Ukraine, Iran, the Sahel region and the Western Balkans”, – the document says.

In addition, as noted in the White House, “experts from both governments discussed the Nord Stream-2 pipeline, including the issues of concern to the United States regarding the risks it poses for Ukraine and the energy security of Europe”.

Recall that on Tuesday, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas confirmed that representatives of the German government are negotiating with the US administration in Washington on the implementation of the Nord Stream-2 project and the settlement of disagreements related to the construction of the gas pipeline.
