Jewish community of Ukraine condemns Nazi march held in Kiev

Michael Tkach, head of the United Jewish Community of Ukraine, said in an interview to Ukrainian News that any honoring of German Nazis is unacceptable

“Honouring any figures who collaborated with Nazi Germany, regardless of what noble goals they pursued, is unacceptable”, –  Tkach said.

He noted that Ukraine no longer honours any Soviet figures and even less should honour people who collaborated with the Nazis. Tkach stressed that the Jewish community of Ukraine should not be the driving force in this issue or the initiator of protests because this is an issue for the entire Ukrainian society.

It should be recalled that on April 28, Ukrainian radicals staged a march in Kiev to commemorate the day when the Galicia division, which was part of the Nazi SS organization headed by Reichsfuhrer Heinrich Himmler, was created
